Robert is a Canadian/Australian singer/songwriter now living in Nashville TN. Robert was born and raised on the Miramichi in New Brunswick, Canada, in the small communities of New Jersey and Barryville, which were a breeding ground for folk and country songs written from the heart and soul about life. His passion for country music came from hearing his Mamma (Betty) singing around the house and listening to traditional and country music at local dances and socials. These songs became the basis of his music today. Robert’s life and music are influenced by serving in the Canadian Army for over 11 years, traveling coast to coast in Canada then serving overseas for 3 and a half years. A life changing opportunity was provided in 2009 when he moved to Australia and became a dual citizen in 2014. Robert launched his debut album, titled “It’s Never Too Late,” in Australia in 2019. The album, which features 10 original songs written and composed by Robert, pays homage to his influences, including country music legends like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Randy Travis, and Sawyer Brown, with a touch of classic Rock n’ Roll. Six singles were released to promote the album. His song “Jack Daniels” topped the charts in Australia at #1, while “Driving Me Insane” and “Don’t You Cry” achieved the top spot (#1) on the International Indie charts. Notably, “Don’t You Cry” received a nomination for Single of the Year at the Josie Music Awards in Nashville, 2021. Additionally, “Jack Daniels” made it to the top 40 radio play for 2021 in Australia. All official videos are available on YouTube. In October 2023, a local Nashville producer offered sponsorship for Robert to relocate to Nashville, TN. Robert took the leap of faith, which led him to reconnect with Canadian artist and producer Gil Grand in Nashville. This reunion sparked the creation of his second album, titled “Better with Time,” a compilation of 10 original songs written or co-written by him and Mr. Grand. In July 2024, two singles were released in the USA, Australia, and Europe: “Drink Em Down” and “Mamma’s Song.” “Drink Em Down” achieved significant success, topping two independent charts in the USA, reaching the top 10 in the UK and Europe, and also charting in the top 40 in Australia. The song has been nominated for several awards at the Red Carpet Awards in Europe in September 2025, where he will also perform. “Mamma’s Song” has also made a mark in the USA, reaching the top 40 on the Christian charts and receiving nominations for several awards at the Voices of Gospel Awards in May 2025. In January 2025, he released his single and title track from his upcoming album, titled “Better With Time.” This track has received significant radio and streaming platform attention. On May 16th, his latest single, “People Like Me,” was released. It’s a fantastic summer party anthem song. Additionally, he pays a heartfelt tribute to all our soldiers in the song. When not in Nashville, writing, recording, or showcasing his music, Robert spends his time touring across the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe.
