A good country song takes a page out of somebody's life and puts it to music."
-Conway Twitty

Robert Ross

Robert Ross is a Canadian–Australian country singer-songwriter now based in Nashville, Tennessee. Born and raised on the Miramichi in New Brunswick, Canada, in the small communities of New Jersey and Barryville, Robert grew up surrounded by the sounds of folk and country music. Inspired by his mother, Betty, whose singing filled their home, and by local dances and socials, Robert developed a deep love for heartfelt storytelling through song — a passion that continues to define his music today. Before pursuing music full-time, Robert served over 11 years in the Canadian Army, traveling across Canada and spending three and a half years overseas. His experiences in service deeply shaped his perspective and artistry, bringing authenticity and emotional depth to his songwriting. In 2009, Robert moved to Australia, where he became a dual citizen in 2014. His debut album, It’s Never Too Late (2019), featured ten original tracks paying tribute to country legends like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Randy Travis, and Sawyer Brown, with a touch of classic rock ’n’ roll. The album produced six singles, including Jack Daniels, which reached #1 on the Australian charts, and Driving Me Insane and Don’t You Cry, both of which topped the International Indie charts. Don’t You Cry was also nominated for Single of the Year at the 2021 Josie Music Awards in Nashville. In 2023, a Nashville producer invited Robert to relocate to Music City, leading to a reunion with Canadian artist and producer Gil Grand. Together, they began work on Robert’s second album, Better With Time — a collection of ten original songs written or co-written by the duo. Two singles, Drink Em Down and Mamma’s Song, were released in July 2024 across the USA, Australia, and Europe. Drink Em Down topped two independent charts in the U.S., hit the Top 10 in the UK and Europe, and reached the Top 40 in Australia. The track earned several nominations at the Red Carpet Awards Europe (2025), where Robert performed and ultimately won Male Artist of the Year. Mamma’s Song reached the U.S. Christian Top 40 and received multiple nominations, including Song of the Year at the 2025 Voices of Gospel Awards. In early 2025, Robert released Better With Time, the title track of his upcoming album, which gained significant radio and streaming traction. His latest single, People Like Me (May 2025), is an upbeat summer anthem that also serves as a heartfelt tribute to soldiers everywhere. When he’s not writing, recording, or performing in Nashville, Robert tours across the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe — connecting audiences through his honest lyrics, soulful vocals, and unwavering love for country music.   Highlights & Accomplishments (2025)  May 2025 – Mamma’s Song nominated for Song of the Year, Voices of Gospel Awards (USA)  September 2025 – Winner, Male Artist of the Year, Red Carpet Awards (Europe)

My Musical Journey

Small town New Brunswick, Canada was a breeding ground for folk music and country songs written from the heart and from life. From an early age I found my love of music in hearing my Mother (Betty) singing around the house. The songs of the country greats were sung daily and you were sure to hear more heart of country music on the weekend at any local dances or socials. These songs became the basis of my music today. My music comes from life. The good, the bad and the hilarious! Where we all have something in common. I am pleased to share with you my original songs and will continue to promote the classic tunes from our past. Thank you for taking this journey with me. Enjoy.
