Robert Ross is an Australian/Canadian country music singer-songwriter, a proud dual citizen of both Australia and Canada, and an artist who has spent the better part of two decades building a career on honest lyrics, soulful vocals, and an unwavering love for country music. WHERE MY STORY BEGAN I was born and raised on the Miramichi in New Brunswick, Canada. Country and folk music filled our home growing up, largely thanks to my mother, Betty, whose singing was the soundtrack of my childhood, and to the local dances and socials that first drew me to country music. That early exposure planted a deep love of heartfelt storytelling through song, which is a passion that still defines everything I write and perform today. Before pursuing music full-time, I served more than eleven years in the Canadian Army, including three and a half years overseas. That chapter of my life shaped the way I see the world, and it continues to bring an authenticity and emotional depth to my songwriting that I don't think I could have found any other way. BUILDING A CAREER IN AUSTRALIA I moved to Australia in 2009 and I am proud to have become an Australian citizen as of 2014, an honor I don't take lightly. In 2019, I released my debut album, "It's Never Too Late", ten original tracks paying tribute to the country legends who shaped me including Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Randy Travis, and Sawyer Brown with a touch of classic Rock n Roll woven through. My debut album produced "Jack Daniels", which held the #1 position for two weeks on the Country Songs Top 40 Australian Airplay Charts in 2021. It also was a top 40 song for that same year. Singles, "Driving Me Insane' and ' "Don't You Cry", topped the International Indie charts. "Don't You Cry" went on to earn a nomination for Single of the Year at the 2021 Josie Music Awards in Nashville. A SEASON IN NASHVILLE In 2023, a Nashville producer offered me a rare opportunity to relocate to Music City for three years and immerse myself in the heart of the country music industry. Not long after arriving, I reunited with Gil Grand, Grammy award-winning Canadian country music singer songwriter and producer, and together we began work on my second album, "Better With Time", ten original songs that I wrote or co-wrote together with Mr. Grand. That momentum carried into 2024 with the release of two singles, "Drink Em' Down" and "Mamma's Song", launched simultaneously across the USA, Australia, and Europe in July 2024. "Drink Em' Down" topped two independent charts in the United States and reached the Top 10 in the UK and Europe. It went on to earn several nominations at the Red-Carpet Awards Europe (2025), where I performed live and was named Male Artist of the Year. "Mamma's Song" reached the U.S. Christian Top 40 and was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2025 Voices of Gospel Awards in Mobile, Alabama. I closed out 2024 by winning the Independent Music Network's New Discovery Artist award. In early 2025, I released the title track, "Better With Time", which climbed into the top 25 on several independent charts. "People Like Me", released in May 2025, was both a summer anthem and a heartfelt tribute to military personnel everywhere. This song means a great deal to me given my years of service. Skope Magazine praised its "worn denim authenticity," calling me "one of the real ones" in modern country music. "People Like Me" has been nominated for Single of the Year at the 2026 Josie Music Awards in Nashville, to be held this September. My success in 2026 continues with my current single, "For You Girl", which sits at #64 on the Music Row charts and the video surpassing 128,000 views and climbing.   LOOKING AHEAD Twenty years, three countries and honest songwriting have brought me here. I have proven I can write, chart, and perform at an international level and the good Lord willing I will keep bringing you all the best of me, through my songs and shows.
